Reclaiming Purpose: How a Spiritual Lens Can Help Your Organization Be More Efficient, Effective, and Holistically Grow
Limited Capacity seats available

Purpose is the glue that holds together the mission, vision, and growth arc of a startup or freelance business. It is what keeps leaders committed, clear, and grounded as they navigate difficult moral and logistical questions in their leadership and management contexts. Clarity around personal and organizational purpose is integral to self-care for entrepreneurs and the holistic sustainability of their business.

This workshop, Reclaiming Purpose, proposes an exciting new model for using a spiritual lens (not rooted in any single faith tradition) to help entrepreneurs care for themselves while serving their clients with greater effectiveness and care. Using language and proven skills rooted in spiritual discernment and personal empowerment, participants will discuss their deeper calling within their career and organization and craft individual purpose statements. They will then collaborate with facilitators and peers in order to use these purpose statements to identify specific action items that they will be able to integrate into their freelance business practices.

This Fireside Workshop is especially helpful for those newer entrepreneurs and freelancers who are looking to establish holistic self-care practices and for those who find themselves at a career crossroads who are seeking language to help orient their next professional development needs.

Taking a Leap: Analog and Digital Nomad
Limited Capacity seats available

I am a full-time RVer, making art and teaching online. My art is based in the analog and digital realm; teaching (online in particular) passes between analog and digital; and I jump the line between analog - being un attached to electricity and cell service, and digital to make my living.

It's been a fascinating learning experience, and fully believe that if you leap, the net will appear. I am excited to talk to #FBWDen about making that leap to a nomad lifestyle and a few lessons that I learned along the way.

Burnout: How to Identify If You Are Overworking and Ways to Preserve Your Energy and Time
Limited Capacity seats available

It’s time to understand that chronic, obsessive overwork has major consequences. Not only can a “live to work” culture lead to burnout, but studies show that this kind of cut-throat achievementism can also lead to an increase in cutting corners and bent rules. There is a wealth of research that proves that we’re ruining our health and productivity by working too hard and too long. And while we could go around blaming the American work culture, which is indeed toxic, we do have some agency in how we work. This session will explore the term of "burn-out" and how to identify it in your own life. We then break-down how to implement self-care strategies and open up avenues to explore community care.

Processes Will Save Your Sanity
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

As freelancers, we simply don't have the time or resources that full-service agencies have. Don't reinvent the wheel for every new inquiry, proposal and project. Instead, learn to create a repeatable process for every single thing that you do to streamline your services. Confidently guide your clients through so they build trust in your authority and make your freelance gig run like a real business.

We'll be going over why processes are so important, how to create processes by mapping out your client's journey, and give a real walkthrough of the processes I use for inquiries and consultations.

Rituals of Resilience: Restoring Effectiveness
Limited Capacity seats available

Being mindful of the process and importance of our daily tasks, whether that is a board meeting or brunch, assists us in celebrating and diving deep into the magic of current opportunities. This isn’t simply mindfulness meditation-- it’s a chance to dialogue about rituals that work, sustain, and empower us all. We are the experts of our leadership and lives-- let’s use that framework to unpack what’s working or no longer serving us in our personal and professional experiences.

An effective leader cultivates ways to renew creativity and realign a team needing a boost in a better, more efficient direction. Pausing and re-centering is a practice often seen as an extra step instead of what it really is: an infusion of efficacy. It’s an investment in clarity. Let’s get to the root cause, so we can stop stalling and produce phenomenal results that exceed the status quo.

Lift the Margins: Stand Out By Standing Up for Others
Limited Capacity seats available

Too often we read stories about small business owners going to court to fight for their right to not serve various marginalized groups; too often, we see members of these groups fighting for inclusion in the conversation and to be seen and heard as human beings worthy of representation.

In this talk, I will discuss how I turned serving marginalized groups into a unique value proposition that helps me stand out from my competition. From Photoshop-free boudoir images of individuals of all sizes and genders (yes, we're gonna go beyond the binary!) as part of my Every BODY is Beautiful campaign to an LGBT+ service portrait project, I launched my career looking for groups in the margins and working with them as an ally to lift them up!

By the end of this talk, you will be inspired to see what unrepresented group speaks to your heart, to explore how you can lift them beyond the margins and into the spotlight, and how to dovetail your passion for equality with your business and your brand.

Make the news for the right reasons!

The Riveter Presents Diversifying Outdoors: Where POC & Nature Meet | Denver
Limited Capacity seats available

The Riveter is partnering with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to celebrate and inspire POC leadership in nature by highlighting local organizations that are redefining what national outdoor engagement is all about! Come meet leaders that are smashing the representation and access within outdoor recreation and conservation. The evening's panel discussion will drive what these organizations and allies are doing and what YOU can do to support the diversification of POC leadership in the outdoors.
Come learn about how you can get involved with, collaborate or support these organizations, and how you can advocate for diversifying outdoors! Also, come check out the PopUps of Museum of Nature & Science's on their Skulls of Colorado Mammals Interactive and Extreme Sports Exhibition on Beyond Human Limits at this event!

Why is this important? We acknowledge the facts that about 78 percent of those who visit federal parks are white, according to the most recent National Parks Service survey. Meanwhile, African Americans, Latinx, Asian American, Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ+ women, and members of the LGBTQ community often report feeling unwelcome or unsafe in outdoor spaces. Moreover, the outdoors industry workforce—which includes everyone from park rangers to retail sales associates—has minimal representation from these groups. We’re here to amplify the voice of local organizations that have been working to diversify the outdoors and start changing the statistics.

Join The Riveter Denver for a night of refreshing conversation and refreshing beverages, provided by Denver Beer Co.

Get Out Of Your Own Way: Start Up-leveling by Taming the Imposter Monster
Limited Capacity seats available

Most freelancers say that they want more clients or better clients. But most freelancers are also doing (or not doing) things that are, in fact, keeping them from getting great clients! The truth is that on a subconscious level many talented professionals secretly feel that they are just “faking it” when compared with their peers. This is called the Imposter Experience and can lead to business-killing behaviors ranging from sending invoices late to avoiding marketing opportunities.

In this presentation, participants will learn to spot the Imposter Experience and stop it in its tracks. We will explore the hidden ways Imposter Experience can show up in our professional lives, the research behind this phenomenon, and three practical techniques for banishing it. Participants will gain a practical approach for increasing innovation and decreasing procrastination and learn to ride the emotional roller-coaster of working for themselves.

Zero Party at PS.Design (First Fridays)
Limited Capacity seats available

PS Design is excited to announce a new installment of their Zero Party art show series with an exhibition featuring the paintings of Lisa Lynch. This first Friday event is free to the public.
Along with her art, Lisa is bringing her band! “Vampire Rodeo” will be doing a Halloween set. They are a rockabilly-ish band with mostly originals and some covers. We'll also have some nail and hair artists ready to get you even better prepped for the holiday.

The mission the ZERO party series is to embrace as much WTF creativity as possible, and to support to the art community by offering commission free events. If you're interested in showing, please contact diana@ps.design or PM through PS.Design.
Lisa is a Colorado artist who enjoys depicting wildlife and landscapes through her artwork. Her time spent living in Evergreen and Bailey and exploring our beautiful Colorado scenery has given her constant inspiration to capture the bright colors and gestural shapes found in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.
She has spent time touring in the local juried art festivals and has been featured in the Artists of Colorado Magazine, the Evergreen Canyon Courier Newspaper, Parade of Homes and the Denver/Boulder Magazine. She has shown in solo and group shows at numerous local and out-of-state galleries.
She has won awards at the Cripple Creek and Evergreen art festivals. When she's not painting, I enjoy hiking and camping with my family and looking for more inspiration in the great outdoors.
